Created in 1916, the Troy Turkey Trot is among the oldest events in the nation, and also among the largest Turkey Trots, with nearly 8,000 registering last year. The city of Troy, NY owns the event, and they partnered with ARE Event Productions (AREEP) in 2025 to assist with the production of the race. AREEP provides timing and logistical services to nearly 200 annual events, including every major event in the Capital Region as well as races throughout the country.
